Two codes, one river town

The two codes, 97034 and 97035, serve the same town, and a crew should not assume the second code carries different rules. Read the address against the code and against the nearest cross street, then choose the approach.

Because the town runs along the Willamette, a spot close to the water may be reached by a different road from a spot further back from it. A delivery planned by straight-line distance will often miss the road that a truck has to use. Set the window from the road, and write the road on the order.

Ask for the access point as well as the address. Some sites are reached from a lower road and others from a higher one, and a unit that cannot be reached from the road the truck takes is a delivery that has to be redone.

Placing a unit near the water

A unit set close to the river needs more care with its base than one set inland. Wet ground, a slope down to the bank and the drainage from the surrounding lot all affect whether the unit stays level. A base is the normal answer where the spot is in doubt.

Keep the path to the unit clear of the edge and any drop. A path that runs along a bank invites a turn in the dark, and it should be lit where it passes near the water. The placement should be agreed with the owner of the ground, in writing, before the day.

Events and the city's terms

Events on public ground in Lake Oswego are a matter for the city, not for the Portland park form. The count, the placement and the terms for the ground are asked of the city's office before the plan is fixed, and the answer is kept with the order.

For a private event, the owner and the organiser set the count from the crowd, the length of stay and the access, and the count is written on the order. A private lawn that will be used all day needs more visits than a short gathering in the same spot.
